Most people searching “sales jobs near me” in Hudson County end up scrolling through the same listings: retail floor jobs, call centers reading scripts, or roles that want three years of B2B experience before you can even apply. If you want a real career in sales, with training, a path to leadership and skills that make you more valuable every year, the options are thinner than they should be.

NexGen Lending is a business funding company headquartered at 2 Hudson Place in Hoboken. We help small businesses get financing from $10,000 to $20,000,000, and we’re growing our sales team. This guide explains what the job is, who it’s for, what you’ll learn and how commuters across New Jersey can get to our sales floor.

Are there entry-level sales jobs in Hoboken and Jersey City with no experience?

Short answer: Yes. NexGen hires Sales Representatives without prior sales or finance experience at its Hoboken office. We teach the business, our financing products and a defined sales process. We hire for hunger, discipline and coachability, people willing to pick up the phone, hear “no” and make the next call.

You don’t need 10 years of finance experience. You don’t need a perfect resume. You don’t need to know everything on day one. What you need is the willingness to get uncomfortable and the discipline to keep going. Many great salespeople come from restaurants, retail, gyms, warehouses, customer service and sports, places where you learn to read people and work toward a goal.

Where is NexGen’s office and how do I get there?

Short answer: Our office is at 2 Hudson Place in Hoboken, next to Hoboken Terminal, one of the region’s biggest transit hubs. PATH trains, NJ Transit commuter rail, the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, NY Waterway ferries and local buses all stop there, so most of Hudson County and North Jersey can commute without a car.

What does a Sales Representative at NexGen do day to day?

Short answer: You help small business owners find the right financing. You prospect, call owners, learn what they need, qualify them, present options from 150+ private lenders, answer questions and follow through to funding. Many NexGen programs approve in 1 to 24 hours, so you see results from your work quickly.
What is a business funding advisor? A salesperson who helps companies get capital, such as a line of credit, equipment financing, SBA loan, term loan or revenue-based financing, by matching their situation to the right lender and program. Read more in what a business funding advisor does.

The owners you talk to are often right here in New Jersey: contractors, restaurants, trucking companies, medical practices and retailers. Our industry guides, like construction and restaurant financing, show the kinds of businesses you’ll help.

What skills will I learn?

Short answer: Six skills that compound for life: sales, finance, negotiation, relationships, business and leadership. You learn to prospect and close, understand how companies make money and manage cash flow, talk with decision-makers, build trust and eventually develop other salespeople. You’re not just learning a product; you’re learning how business works.

What training and support do new reps get?

Short answer: New reps get training on the business, our products, the sales process and how to talk with owners. You’re coached by people who have done the work, use systems built to keep you organized, track every deal in our CRM and follow a process built around prospecting, qualifying, following up and closing.

We give you the platform. You bring the performance.

What does the first year look like?

Short answer: Months 1–3: learn the business, make calls, handle rejection and build a pipeline. Months 4–6: become more independent and consistent. Months 7–12: become a serious producer with your own book of business. Year 2+: leadership, management, business development, lending and new opportunities as NexGen grows.
  1. Months 1–3: Learn the products and process. Make the calls. Build confidence.
  2. Months 4–6: Develop your own style, improve conversion and build relationships.
  3. Months 7–12: Build a book of business and take on more responsibility.
  4. Year 2+: Step into leadership, management or business development.

Is there a real career path?

Short answer: Yes. The path runs from Sales Representative to Senior Producer, Team Lead, Sales Manager and leadership. NexGen is building a brokerage, lender partnerships and a technology platform for business owners, and the people who join while it’s being built have the chance to leave their fingerprints on what comes next.

How does compensation work?

Short answer: Compensation details are covered in the interview so you get accurate information for the role. Like most sales careers, there’s income upside tied to performance. Our philosophy is “Customer first. Commission second.” The best reps listen, tell the truth and follow through, because a relationship can pay for years.

Who is the right fit?

Short answer: People who are hungry, coachable, competitive, accountable, disciplined, relentless and entrepreneurial. If you’re tired of being comfortable, want to learn to sell, want real financial skills and want to be around ambitious people, apply. If you want the easiest job you can find, this probably isn’t it.
